Welcome to the Department of Physics, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan), established in the year 1964 with the vision “To generate interest and equip students with the tools necessary for observation, analysis and hence understanding of the natural world thus ensuring a place for the department as a major contributor to significant advancement of knowledge”.

Department of Physics is one of the leading departments in the University with long tradition of quality teaching and research. We are proud to offer a range of academic programs, including UG, PG and research opportunities in Physical Sciences. Achievements in research of the faculty members have been well recognized by UGC by supporting the department under Special Assistance Programme from 1987 in the thrust areas of Hyperfine Interactions, Ionospheric and Atmospheric Physics and Theoretical Physics and under UGC COSIST programme. The department is also supported under DST-FIST programme (Level- I, II and PS-I/C). Faculty members are also receiving research funding under major research projects from DST-SERB, DRDO, UGC, UGC-CSR DST-Rajasthan and ISRO.Well equipped laboratories and State-of-the-art experimental facilities are available in the department for teaching and research.
